well g-tech. that would probably explain it.
obviosuly u havent set it up right.

but dude there is no chance ur car will pull that mph and it would be very optimistic to say it waould pull a 15.4 too.

take it to a real racetrack and get a proper time.

it was my first time using a g-tech, how the f**k am i supposed to know if it was accurate, not having anything to compare it to.

thanks for all the help and support...one things for sure, i hit the speed i posted...my speedo said 160.

Perhaps you should have said you were using a gtech - they are always giving crazy results.

Just getting to 160 doesnt mean you can do it in 400m.

Gtech 0-100 isnt too bad, 1/4 ET can range from stupidly fast to slow, mph is ALWAYS higher than what you will get at the track (it even says it in the instructions).

All you can do to try to make it as accurate as possible is to make sure it is pointing directly forward (get out the car and stand in front and make sure it all lines up), get it level, and find the flattest smoothest section of road around.

it all depends on the road your doing it on. it has to be completly dead flat (like a drag strip) or else it makes the ge-tech bump up and down which f**k up the end result. also have to make sure you launch while its on 0 degrees

mate, i have a cam, diff gears, extractors, cat back exhaust, cold air intake and BMC filter and i reckon i would run just under 15.4, and my car is a bit newer than an EA. My assumed power output is around 135rwkw, so i doubt your EA with cat back and its whole 115hp is running a 15.4.

the s**t alarm has just blown up...

135rwkw for a 15.4??? wtf???
do you know how to drive? :p

ea s pack multipoint 5sp did 8.2 and low to mid 15 from factory as per motor or wheels mag. i had one also. anniversary model with cat back and it went well. easily a mid 15. not sure if that would be equalled by a 4sp auto but all cars are different.

this has also been gone through before. dyno figures are worthless when comparing against someone elses who dyno'd on a different day on a different dyno and quite often on here, in a different state. dyno's are an excellent tuning tool and if cars are done back to back then you also get bragging rights. a lot of other factors come into play for 1/4 times. just because you have more power at treads doesn't mean it will be faster. an example. stock ba's have upwards of 130rwkw. quite often in 140's. a healthy e series with less (say around 115 - 120 for arguments sake) will run a better 1/4, or very similar. gearing, traction, where the power is made, etc etc, all affect time.

Gtech's trap speed is nabbed in a different manner to the trap speeds you will get on your timeslip down at the track.

As stockstandard has mentioned - Gtech make no secret of this fact.

I'd also add that - as its difficult to find the perfect surface to use the gtech on, do runs in both directions and average the results. And of course - do so only in a spot where it is legal.

just remeber to remove your seats/headlights/interior/spare wheel/ and anything else that might weigh the car down. THEN you might get close to getting a factory time. lol :P

*achoo*

s**t. ford factory times are conservative as f**k. at one point they claimed a high 15 for a factory EL 5 speed xr6.
