Please help me. I'm working towards removing the head.
Rocker gear is off. VCT solenoid holder (The alloy thing on the front of the head with the Tickford badge) is off. The chain tensioner has been completely removed. On other OHC engines at this stage I would remove the sprocket from the cam but I've read that's not such a hot idea with the VCT and it seems to require some pretty special Torx bits - either BIG for the centre bolt or hollowed out for the four holding the sprocket. I can't get enough slack in the chain to pop it off the sprocket. The car is an AU Series 1 Fairmont Ghia with 6cyl VCT, auto, IRS and dodgy paint. Thanks in advance, Igor |
