I'm looking into purchasing a second hand Futura, claiming that it has a XR6 EF engine in it. What is the easiest way to tell if it is an actual XR motor and not just a normal engine with a red tappet cover?

EF XR6 Motor, same bottom end as everyting else ford put out in the 4.0l range for that series, XR head is easiest spotted by the distinctive T for tickford on the front of the head.
Pretty simple.
