How does the ECU tell the Auto GB when to change gears? Would it be possible to overtake these controls by manually sending these messages by making an electrical device to control gear changing, so it would be like a clutches manual, except u would changes gears by buttons or switches instead of a gearstick.

A similar question was asked in the driveline workshop a month or so ago and I described what it would take in a fair bit of detail.
