Maybe a quick trip to your local wrecker might prove fruitful for an original ED Ford one. They were fitted to EA/EB/ED 4 speed autos and are very good.

EF would be ok, I just thought you might like to try and find an original type :D They DO work well.

The EF/EL ones are a little different to the EB/ED ones but you should be able to fit it. While you are at it, might be worth taking the power steering cooler and fitting it to your EA, they sure do need it. :)

I don't have a good pic of the EF/EL one but they are a longish unit and just make sure the hoses are in good condition, they could be brittle inside.

The EB/ED one is fairly big, pretty cheap & works rather well. I've got one here, but i'm going to swap it's role from a trans cooler to a power steering cooler in my EB Ghia, as it is a T5 manual atm. Once upon a time the car was auto & this cooler was in it, i removed it when i converted to the manual.

I might have another Eb series 2 or Ed to wreck in a few days, that may have the cooler in good shape if your keen on a EB/ED one & pipes to suit. Shouldn't be too expensive to post, they are pretty thin & not very heavy. ;)

Cheers

You plumb it into the low pressure return line.
