The Fairlane is now running on petrol again and got just over 400kms on about 2/3 of a tank mixed driving. I have just replaced my O2 sensor but haven't run a full tank of petrol since. LPG is still cheaper. Also new plugs and leads.

Testing your O2 sensor can only be done by checking your tail pipe emissions using a air/fuel ratio meter with its own sensor or a CO tester. An O2 sensor can appear to be funtioning properly but they deteriorate over time (become saturated or full of clinker).

It is recommended they be replaced every 80,000kms.

I was getting around 11L/km in the Fairmont, so got 600km + out of a tank.

I've got a Wade 1673, extractors exhaust, 3.45 and T5, and on the hwy I average 7-9 on the instant, and can get 800kms+ from a tank all highway without much trouble at all!
I normally get about 600kms to a tank with the 3.45s, used to get a touch more with 3.23s.

My economy is s**t. I'm drive it pretty normally with the occasional squirt. With a combination of freeway and around town I get 450 from a tank if I'm lucky. Has new plugs and sometimes idles with a slight occasional miss which is accompanied by a fuel smell haha...

Soon I'll replace the O2 sensor, and the leads.

My EF only does 500ish with freeway and around town my economy sits around 13ish ltrs/per 100km its s**t compared to todays standard but its pretty good otherwise.

To improve economy check your exhaust for blockings see if it is tuned properly and not running rich etc...
