How much can I expect to pay for an overflow tank for an EL with the low water switch?

is your old switch OK? they dont come with the bottle. you would be looking around $100 off the top of my head
plus the switch if oyu need it is about 60-70

I bought one for my xh from ford. Cost 92 bucks from memory. But no switch. Even wreckers want about 50 with no switch

Late last year I was lucky to pick one up cheap after the parts guy mis-quoted the price. Cost me $102 for tank & sensor. Should have been around $170. The tank alone was $102 with the hole for the sensor. I believe they are around $70 without the hole.

the AU ones do come with the sensor, and they are about $120 so it makes it pretty cheap

My last one was $130 with the sensor. You can buy them with or without the sensor and you can buy the sensor seperately if needed ('bout $35/40 I think). Some AUs have the sensor and some don't.

i sold one last week at work for $150..the sensor is an extra $65 or so...
funny thing is i sold my 2nd hand one for $15..... |

whats up the the ED's not having a overflow bottle,how hard would it be to hook one up i am getting sick of going to my car and finding a small puddle of coolant on road

it has to have an overflow bottle. otherwise there is no way of filling up the radiator short of pulling off a hose !

What all of them have isn't actually a overflow bottle, its a header tank. Its primary purpose is to raise the level of the coolant to above that of the head. therefore any air in the system should reside in the header tank and not in the head where it would do damage.
An overflow bottle can be attached to the overflow hose running off the side of the tank near the radiator cap. However the question needs to be asked, why is coolant constantly being expeled by the cap? Maybe a faulty cap!

The 'E' series tanks do not come with a sensor. they are listed seperately by Ford. It is because the AU tank is supplied with a sensor, that the Ford Parts guy thought, when he quoted it for me the EL would be the same. The sensor with float is around $65. The float alone is about $20 if you can find one, as most dealerships don't stock it on it own.
