it also depends what mods you already have.
expecially when it comes to cams.

Don't bother with them. I noticed a huge improvement when I changed my Lukies over to Pacey Comps. If you can't afford the Pacey Comps rather keep saving, but don't stoop down to the Lukies... DOn;t get me wrong, there better than stock, and there not expensive, so good bang for you buck, but if your gunna change em over, do it properly. |

I mean you'd have to be doing 80km/h in first gear to get in the power range! And so wouldn't improve your economy at crusing much either! |

So your telling me that the Lukey extractors produce a power band from 2400 to 5400? That's is bloody long, 3000rpm. I didn't think the stock cam shaft was ground to produce peak power as high as 5400. Sounds like crap to me considering I used to have them on my EF. The Lukeys have got no wear near the power increase the Pacey Comps have below 3500. I noticed a big difference when I changed over with my stock cam, and even more when I fitted the wade! |

Then there's that kick in the back from about 3850 (when the BBM switches) theintake flowing better, the pacies evacuate the cylinders beautifully. It's all good.

There is a trade off with extractors - the exhaust note sounds better so you drive to hear the new note - and use more petrol.
The other problem can be higher engine compartment temperatures. This can affect your starter motor performance.

Well the starter motor's on the other side, at least on the EA-BA Sixes.
