You could, but you dont even need to go that far. You only need an inch or so and dropping the sump down gives you enough. Also just leave the last 2 bolts at the bellhousing end in with just enough thread to hold, sump will drop and pivot back without actually falling out of alignment.

Hey guy i took the head off last night found that the chain was a clean cut one good thing then after looking over it abit more 1 rocker has snapped in 2 parts and one has chiped the top off, 3 valves are bent straight and the tightner is broken aswell where does this leave me >?<

New engine seems wiser if yours is stock, if its bent valves and broken rockers then its hit the piston(s), pistons may not be healthy either.

AU block and have your current head reco'd? Just another option. Sure its great being able to throw another motor in complete, but you're losing the Ticky goodness by doing that, and you should do the headgasket anyway.
I would rather spend the few extra dollars reco'ing the head and knowing its 100% over throwing a wrecker special in there. I suggested AU block even though its a bit more work as its a smoother bottom end (generally stronger), will have less kms and up to 5 years younger. |
