How do you bleed the ABS on an ED Falcon?
I have changed my fluid twice over the past year and both times the fluid has come dirty after 2 weeks of driving and I'm sure this is from the ABS as all the normal lines were flushed with clean fluid coming out. So that nice pedal feel when you've just changed your fluid goes right away when the crap stuff in the ABS contaminates it  Thanks, Ryan

Ok this can be a fun task.
Obviously best way is to bleed the lines that go into the ABS module first then to bleed the actual module itself the easiest way is to have someone sit in the car with the ignition on and have their foot just on the brake pedal and then spin one wheel. this will usually activate the abs and then bleed the fluid through.

If the brake was very dirty in the first place, the new brake fluid will lift off the scum & debris from inside the master cyl and it will come out the reaction ports.

It was never as dirty as the photo in the picture but both times when I bled the system all the lines and filler were crystal clear like in the third photo and after 2 weeks it became very dark murky green again.
The clean fluid just becomes contaminated and the brakes become soft again straight away.

 how did you get it so clean? just washed it out or is there a special way?

Never wash out anything where water can get into the brake fluid or brake lines. Water can be compressed and with water in your brake lines you won't be able to stop
I just soaked up all the fluid in paper towels and wiped it out then filled up with Nulon brake fluid. Then bleed the brake lines so all the bad fluid is flushed out with clean stuff

I have a vacuum brake bleeder kit, I use it to suck out the old fluid, remove the res, clean i with truck wash, dr it, refit it, then put in new fluid, and continue to flush the system. The clean fluid will only last a couple of weeks, slowly gets dirty as the new fluid will lift any crud in the master cyl, and come back in through the reaction ports, into the res. If the system has been abused ( lack of flushes ), you get this at the calipers.

Wow! That's probably what my system look like on the inside! I've had new pads, rotors and a new brake booster fitted and the pedal feel is starting to fade away again and starting to feel very wooden.
Would this sludge build-up case the calipers to sieze? |
