Hi guy's,
Well I want to know if what I'm about to say is the way to remove my steering wheel. Ok I disconnect my battery, then remove two screws that hold the airbag in place. Disconnect the wire lead from airbag and take off airbag. the each side of the S/Wheel the cruise control bits then the S/Wheel. To put the new S/Wheel just do it in revise. Is that how it's done or not??? Thanks John |

The air bag has a back up battery in it so I think you wait 10 minutes or so after you disconnect the car battery before playing with the airbag

this is what they say in the ellerys to disable & remove airbag
1) detach negative battery terminal and allow vehicle to sit for at least 1 minute before continuing 2) withdraw screw concealing plugs from rear steering wheel cover, then remove retaining screws 3) detach the clockspring connection to the airbag & lift airbag from steering wheel. then remove steering wheel as normal installation & activation 1) connect airbag clockspring connector, then carfully push airbag assembly into place 2) fit retaining screws, then battery can be reconnected 3) check the airbag fault light doesnt come on hope this helps and pretty much installation is a reversal of what you wrote for the removal cheers mick |

When you take the steering wheel nut off, just loosen it till its only on half way. The wheel can usually be loosened from the shaft by just wiggling it. Leaving the nut on half way will prevent it from hitting you in the face.
If you can't get it off like that you'll need a steering wheel puller
