If you just have a standard open ended spanner, will be harder but can be done. You put one spanner on the fuel filter, and the other on the nut in a position so that you can squeeze the spanners together with one hand so that it turns the nut the right way. Just make sure no fingers are inbetween the spanners. Not sure on fuel reg. I removed mine when the fuel rail was off...I would think that would be the easiest.

is this an ef?
if so i think they had special fitting on the hoses and you need to get the tools from supa crap or somewhere simalar mech (loosley implied) used to get em off with modified silicone tubes but it's a skill to do after that it's undo both the nut type things on the acually reg |

so do you mean, easy or hard to get off without the "special" tool on an EL?

Just undo the 2 bolts that hold it too the back of the fuel rail, manourve it out of the way then undo the fuel line nut at the bottom. Reverse to re-install. New reg should come with new o-ring, don't reuse the old o-ring. Took me about 30min to replace when I install a tickford 300kpa fuel reg too my car. BTW it helps if you remove the intake piping over the inlet manifold and no special tools required 1/4 drive set, spanners.

Should be ok, you will get a small spurt of petrol when you break the seal, just don't smoke while you do it

just a quick question, are the standard au fuel regs and the vct ones the same? im persuming they are because i doubt 4kw requiers more fuel but with ford, you never know

standard au ones are 2.7bar where vct is 3.5bar or in kpa 270kpa and 350kpa.
works out to be 11psi more fuel pressure under load but similar to standard at idle and cruising
