Hi, ive done a search and need a more simplfied lingo to check the timing on my EF 6cyl.
Recently got the car back after getting a timing kit installed and it wouldnt hold idle, so i reset the ecu that night and slowly after a week it has something that resembles an idle but not good enough. Sick of it nearly stalling when i turn into carparks. I want to check the mechanic's work. I know i have to check the following: Firstly i turn the crank until the mark on the balancer lines up with the timing mark on the block. And i guess i also check that the cam gear is within 3mm above the head, but i assume this isnt the whole story. If these two marks are lined up good what position should the valves & pistons be in? Cheers!!! |

Ok ive checked both balancer and cam gear marks line up, but most importantly i need to know how to check if piston no.1 is at TDC...
Is there a tool to check tdc that screws into the spark plug hole or somthin? |
