im looking at fitting an aftermarket alarm and want to disable smartlock any ideas

sure you do :roll:

lol ya cant just disable smartlock, its intergrated with the starter, BCM, ECU, the injectors and everything else in the car. best bet is to buy an alarm that works with smartlock.

Its wires up before smartlock...A pro alarm fitter will have no isues...

the ignition barrel controls smartlock immobiliser, so it won't affect an after market alarm. Only thing it'll stop is remote start/turbo timers etc.

(but that can be 'fixed' too)
