Hi Everyone.

How the hell do you get to the Oil Sender/Switch under the inlet manifold on an EB six?

Is it as simple as removing the oil filter?

Or do I have to remove the intake manifold?

Any hints from ppl who have done this will be appreciated.

Regards
BenJ

ive done this numerous times, it can be done by removing the oil filter makes it a bit easier, esp if you have the oil switch socket, otherwise undo all he bolts on the intake mainfiold pry it back towards the shock tower and get a big shifter onto it, thats the quickest way

I have just upgraded my GL instrument cluster to a mid series cluster, and have to install the Oil Pressure Sender to make the Oil Pressure Gauge read correctly.

So infact I have to do this on two cars!!!!!!

Will I need to replace the Intake Manifold gasket if I remove it?

And while it is loose, should I also change the dizzy cap and leads, as it looks like a real b**ch to get at otherwise. Done the leads once and it was not easy.

thanks
BenJ

if i had to repace the oil switch and dizzy cap/leads/rotor button id just undo the manifold (leave the thermostat housing lower part bolted to te head, might have to undo one bolt to loosen the metal bracket to lift the motor) and get at it that way will be alot easier and less stuffing around

just did this on my car on the weekend, i did the take the oil filter off path, was pretty easy after that, 1 inch spanner to get the old one off and a 14mm to put the new one on. took about 20 mins start to finish including jacking it up.

Thanks for your input.

I think that this time, as I also want to replace the Dizzy Cap and Rotor Button, along with some new leads, I will remove the inlet manifold.

I have only had the car around 3 weeks, and need to give it a freshen up so I have some sort of base line to begin with.

Am also considering adding a Wade 1604 cam to give it a bit more punch in the low to mid range.

Thanks again.

BenJ

Put your car on a hoist or on a jack with axle stands and remove the sensor from underneath the vehicle.

This is a five minute operation and means you do not have to "pry away" your intake manifold.

Sheez guys, this is asking for trouble unless you are going to replace your intake manifold. i6's have enough trouble with intake manifolds leaks without pulling the manifold away from the head unnecessarily.

I removed the snorkle, then the dizzy cap, then the rotor and that plastic insert, then used a socket and ratchet and removed going in through the front.

Thanks

I hadn't heard about issues with the inlet manifold leaks/sealing. Can this be a problem when you replace/remove the head?

I didn't really want to move or rotate the dizzy if I didn't have to. I will consider my options futher this weekend.

Regards
BenJ

I just removed the air box and the intake and with 2 unijoints and a 300mm bar in between them we could get an inch socket on it and get it off and put a new one back on.
