I just bought an 89 EA Ghia for $3,150. 3.9 Multipoint Fuel Injected Motor, Auto Gearbox, just 231,000km. Dark blue in colour, always serviced/garaged. Very few scratches, no leaks, as standard as the day it was born.

When I drive it, it feels like im driving a Bentley. Its so luxurious and powerful, I really do feel like the king in it. Its gotta be the best car in my street. Why pay an extra $45,000 for a new Ghia that is lucky to be its equivalent. My neighbour thinks his car is the best in the street. He has a BA 6cyl Ghia, we were in my house he chucks his keys on my table and says "a real ghia mate"

What can I possibly do to make my EA ghia better than his BA ghia?? I have a budget of $1000

Better in what way...
And $1000 is going to struggle to bridge the EA to BA gap.

For $1000 what is the best thing to do to "bridge the gAP". I dont beleive there is a gap to begin with but I want to really want the title of best car in the street and have him admit to it.

Luxury we are on par with one another, performance it would be a negligible difference, looks is arguable as well and maybe handling he has me because of the bigger wheels and tyres.

Maybe if I spend $1000 on a new diff gears 3.45 and wider tyres it will knock him out cold and edge me ahead overall.

I truly doubt that your auto has more performance or even that it is more luxurous. In terms of looks, beauty in the eyes of the beholder. Maybe rims, lower it and tint the windows but that would probably break the budget.

I need some help here.

I really feel that my EA Ghia is as good as a BA ghia. My neighbour scoffs off any challenge I make to drag him and he says he wont even sit in my car as he will get a crook back.

My car is the best car in the street and I want bragging rights, where do I spend my $1000, maybe I can scramble together another $500 but I want to have a better car than the BA ghia. A friend of mine reckons do the exhaust, but mine is a ghia, I dont want it sound like a circuit car, this is luxury motoring at its finest.

Im going to go over to my neighbours house next time it rains and ask him to take out his BA ghia from the garage so I can put my ghia in.

Where do I spend my money??

Your car is what it is, good or bad. But Im sure Ford would look to evolve into building better machines so the BA probably has an extra 15 yrs know how built into it. Maybe you may have to concede, the BA is better.

Freshion up the motor a little?

geezm where tio start; id do smaller things like tint, rims and susp, this will help but wont look silly like a zorst on a "luxury" ghia would.

Mate, are you jealous of my ride? When I drive my EA ghia, I seriously wear a suit and gloves, listen to jazz as its a gentlemans drive. Your rude remarks are not appreciatied. Maybe you should drive a sophisticated car like mine not a 3inch lowered haemarroid killer falc like uglybob.
