im getting some head work done in a few days but want to know how to raise the compression more with out a rebuild?
has any one herd of lifting the lobes on the crankshaft to raise compression?

lol are you referring to fitting an AU gasket?
they are only marginly thinner than the previous series. shave the head mate. talk to the person doing the head work, they will be able to tell your current cylinder volume (which in tern will determine the CR) and then let you know how much you can shave off to get the required comp. i've had 50 thou shaved off my head and it gave it a good boost in mid to top end, but could proly do 60 thou. you would not be able to run anything less than premium unleaded and tuning would need to be spot on

i am getting an au gasket just so you know
and i think im getting 15 or 20 shaved off but he dident say exactly what he was gonna do all i know is it is costing me 1300 ( 100 for the au gasket) he said epect my rwkw to be around the 160min to a max of 175 im hoping for atleast 165 tho

Froudey, a compression plate will lower compression, theyre known as a de-compression plate... as used on some FI motors... they simply push the head further away from the block, exact opposite of an AU MLS gasket and getting the head shaved a few thou.

nope i dont il find out when i hand it to him on this monday and post it up, but he said thats the maximum i can expect to get he said rather that ganing kw its more so torque. but he has had a few get 175rwkw look on the dyno records for one around that and i think its an el and it says henrich performance and tunning, proof my guy does good work ( or someone got lucky)

my m8 who has an ed like you got 154rwkw from his manuel so you could be in luck hes down at lonsdale just type him up on google and itl tell you were to go, he is booked two weeks in advance no matter what time of the year tho like i booked this head work about 1 month ago or more so yer hes booked

well see he does some other stuff to included in that price thats why he can get such high figures like 175rwkw, or mabye hes just charging lots, but he dident tell me he was just gonna shave the head he spesificaly said hes gonna do what he needs to do so if i see the results im happy
so far iv got, a cam( dunno which one find out on monday) catback, cat, exctractors and chip im making 149rwkw atm

i should find out, if it helps he will be taking the car for three or 4 days and its not just coz hes booked. hes really good tho with prices all up iv spent 3 grand and pretty happy.
as a genral my tuner only charges for instilation not the parts. any ideas what else he could be doing for that sort of money?
