hey guys, starting stripping down the old engine for spare parts, and im going to keep the head as its recently been reconditioned. i took the intake and exhaust mainfold off, and now i need to remove the head, the head bolts were obvious to find but im not sure what to/ how to remove the timing chain, do i take the pulley off? or is there another easier way?

Hey just pull the top pulley off, and tap it off with a soft hammer if you can't get it off with your bare hands. Don't have to worry too much about marking things if your just using it for parts.
Same thing with the head, hit it with a soft hammer to break the gasket. Or if you don't have a soft hammer a hard hammer with the piece of wood or piece of alloy (or a softer metal). |
