how do you tighten up the harmonic balancer in an auto?

same as a manual with a socket or rattle gun, you do mean harmonic balancer?? the way the post reads i thought maybe you where taking touque converter

yeah,,harmonic,i put it on but it's not lined up properly,i going to remove it again and just needed to know how you stop the crank moveing while doing up the bolt.

Use an ABW Powerbar, they can undo & do 'em up.

Pull the starter and you can now use a BIG flat head or a crow bar engaged in the flywheel ring gear to stop the engine turning while you do up the nut.
