Hey Guys,

As the topic states.
I know the easiest way is if it has a red rocker cover and the T on the front of the cylinder head.

But what do the number mean next to the T of the head?

i.e. my Tickford Head says 95 DT From an XR6 Sedan, where as another Tickford head says 69DT but this is from a Ute.

Do these numbers really matter?

Thank you

The number at the start refers to the year the head was made I.e 95DT is a 1995 tickford head, T at the end means tickford.

Not sure about the ute one mate, but what I said is correct in regard to sedans/wagons...

96 would sound more correct...

Thanks for the quick replies guys.

I too was a little confused when I saw 69 DT.

I am buying a motor from someone and they must have mistyped 69 instead of 96.

troyman just said on another post, that the 96DT head is a hybrid head so it'll run the au rocker setup

On S lightly different note:

Does anyone know why the EL Fairmont Ghia and the XR6 Ute had 162 KW, while the XR6 had 164KW?

Thank You

cant say for certain, but could have been in the computer mapping or possibly different exhaust? someone else here may be able to clarify it

Same engine, but with cat back exhaust for 2 kw gain.

Yeah that sounds about right, and the XR ECU is set to be a little more aggressive.

The numbers, ie: 96DT, ....the numbers are the design year .....and the DT, as in the T, is for Tickford.......if that makes any sense..... :?
