Hi guys i dont know if its caused by the hot weather we have in Victoria at the moment or what but my cars running like a pig down low in the rev range but its fine once it hits 2500-3000. My zaust is making a gurgle something that i've never really noticed. And ocassionally it feels like my trannys slipping.

So when I touch my rocker cover should my hand burn like a MO FO or should it not be that hot. My temp is sitting as it normally does also.

While im at it I should also point out that my diff makes a clonk noise sometimes and when I drop the car back a gear sitting on say 60km/h theres a loud fast clonk noise (just like the noise wooden chairs make on floor boards lol)

Im probably being paranoid but I dont want to F**k my engine. I know how my car normally runs and this just doesnt feel right.

Any idea's on whats with my car id love to know.

Thanks guys.

cheers, Nathan

try by changing the cheapest part first, "spark plugs". if it doesn't fix it then leads.

trust me.

I'm not too sure but it may be the air going into the engine. Check if your filter element is clean and in good condition. Since it is also hot you are sucking in more hot air you might lose some power...but I'm just taking a stab. If you want you can do what Slick suggested. Change the cheap things first and see how things go. Most cars don't always run the same day after day so it may run sluggish now and better tomorrow...that's what i found about my car.

It should be hot enough that you burn the f**k out of your hand for being stupid enough to touch it!
Go and touch the extractors now...

lol at twr7cx...

what kind of car is it? my old ea went like crap in hot weather due to the clutch fan. it just wouldnt want to move. do you have a clutch fan??

as for that shudder, my mates xr6 does the same thing, it only started doing it after he got some engine work done... he thought maybe its from the extra power from the engine???

Yeah I gave the extractors a good touching. My fingers melted away so im now typing with stumps ;)

Thanks for the info guys. My guess was the hot air and zero humidity we have had lately.

cheers, Nathan

The thermostat will try to keep you engine water temp in the 90's (depends on the thermostat), so the engine at operating temp can't be any cooler than that, so yeah it'll be f**k hot to the touch.
