Is the only thing that makes it a hybrid the actual head ?
My head gasket went about a month after i got the car and the mechanic rebuilt the whole thing, havent actually stopped to find the part number on the block to check if he shafted me with a hybrid head. If its a hybrid head and I wanted it gone would I be up for all new running gear or internals or anything to suit the other type ? |

If you're pulling 129RWKW with only exhasust and intake mods I'd be gladly keeping the engine as is.
MY before cam dyno was 114 with intake + exhaust. Post cam 141.

On that mate, I had my car dynoed when I had the exhaust fitted and she pumped out around 130rwk (don't have the printout in front of me). After the cam (DEV3HL) was installed, it took power up to 149rwk. |

Not really. I try to avoid traffic, but it is my daily driver so it can't be a complete pig :p. What sort of figures and how much $$ we looking at if you don't mind me asking? |

but i dont know how to pick a hybrid from a stockie el, please explain. Definately not. It's AU spec head, and rocker gear/cam. EL bottom end. Rumoured to have an special (not EL or AU) crank, but I haven't confirmed that.

the crank is known as 'WR' spec crank because or the AU's larger bigend bearing surfaces, also the crank was ment to be better balanced than a normal ef, does anyone know the kw rating of a hybrid ?

if you are after a cam for the hybrid i would ring wade cams and have a chat to them, i have used billet cams from them before, thay worked out custom profiles over the phone also hooked me up with springs, retainers and lifters to suit, thay are very helpfull and thay know there stuff.

Officially same as EF/EL. But before mods, I had no trouble keeping up with XR6s

i have a guy looking at my DEV5 package, and i think he has an EL hybrid motor, as he mentioned something bout it.
The package is for an EF I6. Now i know the cam on its own wont work with the EL hybrid, but im selling the complete package, with the dev5 race head to suit the cam, springs, valves, EF rebuild rocker gear and adjustable timing gear. So basically im asking if this bloke can pull off the AU Spec head and all the gear, and and basically replace it with all the DEV5 stuff im selling him, as its the complete head setup, and have it work nicely??

should work fine, as it's a complete head swap.
