Hey guys, i was checking the oil this morning and spotted these dry looking browny orange pipes. So i folowed to where there went and they go under the body into a black box just behind the bumper. I dont know what the box is. At first i thought is was a part of the body but its got the pipes going into it and a Ford sysmbol with the part number and stuff. Any ideas. Its on the left hand side of the car. The other end of the pipes lead you past the engine down near the tranny. I goes into this little metal cylinder and out again.
Could you tell me what it is please? Cheers Oh its an EA. |

Should be the charcoal canister, its supposed to vent fuel tank gasses into the charcoal to preserve the environment (or something like that)

oh okay. So if them pipes look like they could crack any minute, i should not really worry about it them. its not like brake fluid or tranns oil is gonna come spraying out of them.
Hey cos they look like s**t you reckon i could paint them with some heat resistant paint. |

Yes dont panic about them too much, they are nothing overly important. But better to replace them when you get the chance of course.
