Do you want a fast car, or a car that pulls a nice number on a dyno?

I dont really care what it pulls on the dyno im just saying i want 150rwkw because that to me seems where it would feel fairly powerful.

I want a car that will plant you back into the seat, i wouldn't mind if it was to get into mid-high 14's. But using the auto and the diff gears, does it just mean it will take a while to get the power? or it will stall and run like crap?

I dont want the same sort of power it has at the moment, it's so linear. Which is good, but you dont really get to feel it as much. In a few of my mates cars they feel quicker then mine but mine is actualy alot quicker its just how the power comes in i think.

well do it once, do it properly i'd say

3.9 or 4.11 diff gears, preferably with LSD

2800rpm stall and a mild cam like wade 1673 or cms stg 2

These things wont net you a mid 14 but will make it very fun to drive and expect high 14's/flat 15's on the strip i'd say. Plus your car will remain very streetable and fuel economy wont change much at all, and should be enough to f**k off most
pre-LS1 bombadores

But with the stall you should fit a bigger tranny cooler, although this should be done anyway for better gearbox life

And if you ever wanted to go bigger in the future, cam swaps and valve spring change is easy but you will need some sort of tunable chip as well

I think LSD/Lokka would be a requirement with 150rwkw, especially if you have a 3.5+ diff gears. It'll just be non stop wheelspin thru 1st-2nd otherwise.

5rwks from headwork only?Bs is what I say!! I did my own head from books and a slightly bigger cam and this got me from 141 to 170.1 rwkws!!

I knew nothing about porting .I am not a mechanic even.
These guys are proffessionals? Maybe?Do they know what theyre talking about? Obviously not.

Talk to Joe Crescent fr a more realistic idea and great service.

The car had stock head dev 4 cam 3.73 diff and 2500 stallie jim mock extractors and edit tune.Ran 14.7 et. It pulled 141 rwkws consistently many times on the same dyno.So I went to that dyno to see consistency.
As a stocker it went on a different dyno.Joes from crescent motorsport dyno it was and the car pulled 109rwkws..with xorst/extractors.

Also I have 4:11 lsd and I think it is a bit too much for the daily driver.Go 3.73 or 3.9's the most.

If you have an open centre now, just look for 3.9 gears and buy a lokka.

http://www.4wdsystems.com.au/html/lokka.htm

You want the Borg Warner 28 Spline. Also go to jaycar and get a speedo corrector, they are usually fairly accurate.

It took me 12 months to port my head. I concentrated on the whole thing. Also it didnt help when my port n polish hanheld tool caught fire...I finished most of the head with a ryobi drill!!

The car felt stronger everywhere. From 14.773 the headwork and a bit of tuning has gotten me to 14.241 96.7 mph.

i think the best way to go is a ford meet and ask the guys what their set up is and go for a drive in it,then figure out what you want and costs.most of the boys have done that already and can advise you where they went wrong or right,at the moment its all confusing to you and too much information, you have to make a plan and stick to it--changing mid stream wont cut it,your target--------goal,do your research carefully, have fun and enjoy it-----petrol will be $1.75-1.78 a ltr next week and still climbing
