putting holes in you mufflers is actually very dangerous as exhaust gases can enter the cabin and you could pass out. I am serious this has happened to people. any mods must still exit gasses at the end of the pipe at the rear.

I have a 2 1/2 with single lukey muffler, with mandrel bent pipe on the rear. Only just got the car and a few guys at work asked if it was a v8. It sounds pretty good. note tends to peak around 2250 rpm (bit boomey there) but most of the time sounds pretty much like a V8...... does turn heads

Got the same settup on my car dude, with high-flow cat and pacies as well. I agree with what you're saying, below 2250 it sounds really throaty and mean, not quite like a v8 but not far off! then anything above that the note starts to pick up and starts sounding a bit... how can i say it.... ricey

is it illegal to remove muffler?...my friends suggested getting a hotdog but i didint want...i ended up getting a square looking muffler instead. how much to get muffler removed?

its only illegal if you remove all of them i think. removing all but 1 is ok.

Any non-standard exhaust is illegal. If the cop knows his s**t, He can give you a $200 fine for being louder than standard. Its an EPA regulation. Its not a defect, you dont have to change it back, but you can get done everytime a cop stops you.
