Has anyone done this before or know of any tips?

that should be a basic out and in job.
is your ea centre point or multi point injection? i think thats the only thing that may make a difference.

I've been told that it should bolt up the same, but I will need another gasket. I'm certain I'll have to replace the water pump to put on the crap fan.
I may even get some EF/EL thermo's and wire up. Not sure if I'll need another radiator to do that?

Straight out and straight in, even if yours is CFI you can bolt your manifolds on no probs.

Does anyone know exactly what goodies the xr6 engine has that the ordinary 4lts don't?

I'm wondering if putting the EA exhaust mainfold on will effect the ability to have her running nicely?

Extractors are always better, but nothing wrong with stock manifold... That's all the XR6 runs from factory.

Thanks!!
I've already got a thermo fan on the front of the air con core, I'm thinking that if I pull it off and install the EF/El type fans on the radiator I could use the same wiring, switch & thermostat. Does anyone agree? Also if anyone's interested.... I did the head towing an XF fairmont ghia up a really steep hill!! She's my next project!!

shouldn't be very difficult, just bolt all your old stuff onto the ED motor, hook up the EF/EL thermos' (you can reuse your old wiring as long as is rated to about 60amps) and off you go

I'd better check the amps. I should know, I installed the one on the front about 2yrs ago! Would I find an amp rating on the relay? I remember usuing heavy wire, but I think it's fused at 20-30 amp. Maybe I should upgrade the relay?
