would anybody be able to tell me if the el belt tensioner fits on a ba engine,

easiest way for questions like these is to look on ebay for the part and see what range of falcons it fits :)

The EF/ EL belt tensioner does not fit the Barra motor, they use a different one pully tensioner

Not always guaranteed - sellers do get their info wrong.
Better to ask Papa Smurf - he has access to parts lists.
