as far as i know only the ea/eb cfi engines had egr, none of the multipoints had it, dont think the current engines have it either. did laugh at holden though when the vt came out as they put egr on it but the vs didnt have it, in theory it's supposed to cool the combustion chamber! dont care what anybody says trying to re-burn your exhaust gasses cant be that good

Nope. No EGR valves on the I6 Multipoints. The ECU's have much better control over combustion, so they arent needed.

The V8's of that era still have EGR vavles though.

egr only is used to reduce nox levels. and if the system is working correctly then, u wont tell the difference as it only is in use when idling or when cruzing. doesnt hurt the motor at all.

hmmm, on carby falcons the egr was controlled by vacuum, so it kicked in at part throttle, not at full throttle or idle, one check to see if it's working is to apply vacuum to the egr at idle and see what happens, if the car stalls then it's working properly if not than it's blocked,
but i guess on the CFI ea/ebs and injected v8s they were controlled by the ecu?

Not sure about the CFI engines, but the V8's are still vaccum operated, but the vaccum is supplied via an ECU controlled soleonoid.
