Still haven't decided on head bolts or Stud kit though?

bolts, i dont know how you could justify the price of studs for one of these things unless you planned on taking the head off every week or had massive cylinder pressure courtesy of forced induction.
just use assembly lube on the bolt threads and under side of the bolt head, will give you even and correct stretch.

That was my quandry, for the price of studs, I can get 10 sets of bolts, the head will more than likely be off a few times, as I have another one I am planning on trying some different porting with, but for now I will be using bolts, and spend the money on other things needed.

How's it run Brockyb8? Are you happy with the results, or more tinkering to come?

184.5rwkw with standard bottom end 200,xxx. ( im building that as we speak.)all top end mods .
Car runs fine . Results will get better as time goes by and we learn more about it all.
I sort leave all mechanical things to my mechanic MR CVE .

Bloody expensive  but good, I am getting some blue socks for now.
I been talking with EFI Hardware about an airbox design, but that will have to be a holiday project...

I am redesigning the manifold a little for EFI, so the throttle bodies are spaced the same as IDA's, that way they can use the standard IDA air filters to keep it all off the shelf stuff. It only changes the centres by approx 10mm, so shouldn't effect flow. It will also allow the choice of TB's; singles or 3x IDA's and have the injectors on the TB

Ok,

Gaskets, head bolts, and MLS sorted, thanks to 66 Coup.

Billet fuel rail extrusion should be here early next week, just need to drill injector holes, and work out mounting brackets.

Can pick up the head tomorrow, dropped in to machine shop to discuss how much they will be shaving off the face, decided on 40thou, that along with the MLS should up the compression a bit, will need to cc the chambers once I get it back to find the exact ratio, but will be run on 98 only anyway.

Bought some alloy tube extrusions today and will sort out the vacuum rail over the weekend.

Started on designing brackets to hold the BA/BF coils, am going to make brackets with holes to allow the coil to sit through, these will be tig welded to the rocker cover, and if needed some U-shaped pieces that will screw into the brackets and hold the coils in place, will put up a rendering once the design is finished.

As I am going to use a billet fuel rail I also need a pressure regulator, available funds are diminishing quick, so will go with a cheaper but still billet regulator:

Also need some new injectors, found some new Ford Motorsport 24lb ones for $35 each:

Did some measuring to see if the air-con pipe work will get in the way, look like it will squeeze in, but want to move some of it, for a cleaner looking bay, so it might be easier to take it out for now, and figure it out when I have more time.

Plan is to get all brackets (coils, throttle cable bracket, fuel rail) and vacuum rail fabricated this weekend, and if time allows (Happy birthday to the Queen) mount the EMS and start wiring it.

Almost forgot, still need to find a wideband O2 sensor.

After advice from 66 Coupe, have gone with a better regulator, also ordered injectors, and Innovate LC-1 controller and wideband O2 sensor.

Have blown a crap load of money this week :D but I will end up with something just how I want it, so no complaints, except from the Missus :P
