brown is +, grey is -, so brown to green, grey to black.
do you have the std ecu still connected, ie have you piggybacked the C.A.S? What settings do you have for the dwell and Ign Fire Edge? Do you have an LED test light you can test the EMS to Ignitor outputs, and the coils do have 12v to them when cranking? |

I now have spark, rechecked all wiring and connections, (the EMS setup sheet says if piggybacking the crank sensor you only need to connect the green, however deep in the manual it says if a magnetic sensor is used, you must also earth the negative output of the sensor via the shielded loom ground) fixed that and plugged in a couple of old sparkplugs and they sparked just not at the right time.. Standard ECU is still connected, fire is on rising+ dwell is 4ms. Just put a timing light on it whilst cranking, no1 is firing at 90degrees Cam angle sensor was not removed, so it shouldn't be that? Base timing set in EMS as 10degrees. Any ideas what can be causing the timing being 90degrees???? 66_Coupe could you send me your email please, I can't attach things via your website mail form. |

Thanks guys, a lot of people on here helped along the way.
Got the idle setup better, it's around the 13 AFR, good brake vacuum, now up at around -50kpa. The EMS is not reading the wideband for some reason (will recheck everything) so as I don't have a gauge for the AFR's I am having to unplug the EMS from the laptop and plug in the LC1 Logworks to read the AFR, this doesn't help in tuning anything but idle as I can't log RPM to it. So for now I will have to get it working with the EMS, and try and get a gauge tomorrow from somewhere. Now back to the wire checking and tuning...... |
