Mate I have been watching this thread for a while and I still can't help but be impressed by the quality of your work. You take a lot of pride in doing this and it shows, well done.

Cheers, I figure if somethings worth doing I may as well do it properly.

Just a question....that plenum...is it for turbo charging???
If it isn't.....I'm thinking that the volume of the plenum is a bit small.
Anyway...nice job.

Yes it is for turbo charging, but it will be run as NA for a little bit, until that happens, but I won't be welding the ITB flanges until it's turbo, so it only take 5 mins to whack the ram tubes back on.

The idea I have is, that the ITB's and small plenum will keep the torque down low until the boost takes over.

Mmmmm....maybe....cam choice will help.....but, Im thinking intake runner length will help heaps with torque before boost pressure is up.....you know...airspeed.

Amazing as usual. Working like a trooper.

You're pretty much the reason I'm going to do my damnedest to get to the dyno day.

Very impressive mate. so I gather you'll be running some boost thought it, right?

sorry, didn't bother to read the previous pages.

Yeah, figured the DOHC can wait, gonna try boost first, hopefully will have the exhaust flange and steam pipe bends this week some time, o I can start on the turbo manifold, and with the AUS $ continuing to climb, a Garrett GT35/40 is just around the corner :D

This is prototype A, I have figured out a better way to fabricate it for the next one by folding all the right angles out of one piece of alloy, less welds, and I have found some 3" alloy doughnuts, so I can make the end fully round and curved.

So this one will be a test, see how it works, then I can adjust the next one to suit, this way I can test out runner length etc as well.

We need to catch up sometime before then, I want to have a look at your seats, my drivers seat has just about died, so it's decision time for interior soon.

I only have one problem with this.

If your going to run an air box or plentum and piping was the ITB conversion worth it?
Because i thought the ITB's were for instant throttle response and power, and an airbox or plentum will defeat the purpose wont it?

Plus with the airbox or plentum it wont look as good as it dose now...

with a well designed plenum it will make more power

Give that man a cigar 8-) 8-)

I got sick of welding (all fabricated, just doing all the seams). so decided to put it on and head to the shops in the next town to get an iced coffee, well, the difference it makes is enormous  , it has so much more response, from idle all the way, and it makes a hell of a lot more power, the low down torque increase is ridiculous, I can happily cruise and accelerate in the next gear up at the same speeds.

That is without touching the tune, I did hook up the laptop on the return trip, just to see what it was like, and there is a fair bit of adjusting to do, so with some time spent fine tuning, it will be good to see the difference on the dyno.

Great stuff man. I reckon you've saved s**t loads on cost by making the plenum yourself.

that set-up should help concentrate air flow velocity by 10folds.
