How tight does this get tightened on the EF I6????

I have a feeling that if its too tight then it will wear out the guides, if its too loose it will slap and snap stuff there but how do you get it just right?

I put my R1 in after alot of problems but its running.

Its having a few issues where it nearly stalls but other then that its ok.

the chain tensioner part is self adjusting.. all you need to do is "unspring" it.. as for the bolt into the timing case i do it up til its tight. the threaded part doesnt influence tension on the chain. if you follow me.

unspringing the adjuster takes a little practice.. do it out of the car a couple of times til you get the idea..

hope it works out for you

couldnt PM you but here is what i said

OK..

There is the bolt and the other part (not sure what this is called). Basically i just tighten the bolt till its tight and the car will just automatically tension the chain itsself?

Basically i dont need to worry about it too much?

The reason i posted is because it first started it and it spewed out a bit of oil. So i tightened it.

Seeing as i am PMing you. The car drops idle sometimes, example is when you pull out the drive in reverse and then stop and put in into drive, it almost dies here but i have a feeling its all part of the ECU learning the cam.

I also need to get some extractors because i have a feeling that the other exhaust it restricting too much.

as far as i know the bolt does not have any affect on the tension of the tensioner, as it is Spring Loaded.
i think the bolt is just like a plug. Someone correct me if i am wrong

i got you pm.. noone seems to think their pm's go thru to me.. :(, idle is affected by alot of things, but if its just between gears etc, maybe crackt the trhottle a little more? and you probably right its probably also the ecu figuring out what happened..

tried again
\

this is what it said
Yeah i got the 2.5 catback but i wanted the cam in. I need the extractors soon.

It idles pretty well at 700 rmp ~100 but the needle is nice and steady.

As for nearly stalling its when u pull put and put it from one gear to the next. I had the same issue when my car sat there for about a month without a battery in it. It stoped it after a while.

I have the standard 1.8mm shim in PLUS a second standard 1.8mm Shim which was provided from the guy i got the cam from.

Wonder if you can help me with the next stange to my project.

Dad and i are going to rebuild a motor.
Im going to get some porting and polishing. Any idea what this costs?

Im going for some performance valve springs and do that all up.

I also want to put a different cam in. I was thinking the R6 with the rocker gear but i dont know how that would go. I thought about JMM but hes crap is over priced and personally i think that its a load of wank. Im happy with RPD so far.
But i also thought of a wade 1521a but i need to learn more about cams.
I also want to shave the head. Just need to know how much to take off.

Ben
