Some VNs are fast in stock form. Ive had a couple beat my tickford ghia and others about even and others slower. Its the 0-40 mark that fords are slow and then they pick up and then i can pull em in. Fords main problemsI think it depends on what day your car is made as some models exactly the same seem to go much harder than others.

The Holdens have a better gearing in their autos, so they do zip off the mark. Imagine how crap the holden would be with a 2sp 'Glide behind it with a stall of 800 to 1,000 rpm........lol

yeah i thought the ratios had to be to blame seen as the ford had more power and torque.

5 speed solves the auto's ratio problems...
faster off the line than a v8 commodore

Don't know, it had 180K on it, looked like its only had about 4 or 5 oil changes in its life. The bloke that has it now, has only had it 4 mths.

Looked pretty nasty. I did see an XE in similar condition, however the engine hadn't died yet. It was very noisy in the lifter side of things... When the oil, well bitumen was dropped, it barely wanted to come out... poor bloody car lol

not to mention the VN had a tare weight of 1400 kilograms.... the 5.0lt VN was a smashing weapon, by holdens standards that is.

Just go grab a auto VN and a Auto EL 4L The VN will absolutely punish the EL falcon off the mark and the falcon doesnt have the grunt topeg it back. V6 and lighter weight and better gearing equals heaps better performance. The VT will slog the AU in a straight line. Those V6s are known to go for 300,000km without an oil change. The i6 gives up the ghost at about 150,000km. (new head gasket required) Go the VT AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA gives up the ghost lol new AU headgasket problem permanantly solved, so um what taxi's do 1,000,000 ks on 1 motor??? ohh yeah falcon I6.. and VT fast LOL i clicked 2nd next to a VT at about 30 and still pulled away from it...

LOL AT ABOVE...
You do realise a VT wagon auto v6 vs an ef manual sedan with a box trailer and two engines in teh trailer will still beat the vt......

Vt`s are slow, a good ef or el should beat it, i think its mainly because of the weight they gained compared to the vn. I beleive the standard vn v6 executive is 1300kgs as the vt`s are much porkier like the ef/els and have less torque, what do others think?

well the trailer is my experience. A fully laden eb2 auto will beat a vt auto with one person in it. stock/stock
