No offence, but optimax is/was utter s**t. nothing but a load of crap and i hate it with a vengeance type passion I might get some different plugs and give it a go. I noticed today when the car does it stalling thing just after start, it gets worse when i gradually put my foot down (and vice versa). but always the same, two stalls and worse when i floor it. but then its game on

If its been like this for a while then you may have the ECU adjust for the one lean cylinder and now its fixed it may be taking a while to re-adjust as suggested a ECU reset may help. Also the Cat may not have liked the lean buring cylinder which would cause the exhaust temps to be very hot possibly damaging the cat.
