HI all
I ve discovered something new about the ef with its idle problems and it now seems that it is a common fault. My ef has low miles and has this problem. Ive been driving the car now for a couple of weeks and i noticed that when the engine is cold , it seems to idle perfectly until it gets to operating tempreture. Once it gets to operating temp it seems that idle quality is a bit rough. In this case i removed the coolant temp plug of the sensor and put a 7 kohm resistor in the socket just too trick it. My car runs on gas so it doesnt affect the mileage, however if its running on fuel it would waste it. The idle quality is now perfect, now in doing all this . What do you guys and gals reckon, is it the timing chain that is the problem on a lot of the ef falcons.? |
