Hey guys
Yesterday NRMA changed my battery and now i have problems with the idle ................ I start the car up and it just dies....... i have to put my foot on the accel to keep the revs up and then it sometimes holds idle sometimes just dies even when ive been driving for 30 mins or so i pull up to the traffic lights and it will drop right down and just conk out Any help would be fantastic The battery has been checked by the boys at my work its charging fine and everything so thats one down many to go? lol |

check that your iac is plugged in, (the valve ontop of your t/body.

the ECU will be going through its relearning process. just drive it and it will come right!

its pluggged in just went for a cruise down the m4 to get lunch still the same hrmmmmmmm i got told to take th battery back off for awhile then put it bak...... that worked for like 3mins lol
ahh well see what happens |

also when im backing off at high speed it sounds like its droning and it iddint do that before like the revs drop right down doing 100kms when usually it hold up

There is a sequence you go through.
It goes something like this (Forgotten exactly lol) Start the car and idle in neutral for 1 min, then turn air on and idle 1 min, put in drive with air off and idle 1 min, in drive with air on and idle for 1 min. I'm sure one of the guys will post it up exactly, will have a look for you later on. |

Here you go.
To Re-learn PCM. Run Engine to Normal Operating Temperature. With the Engine at Idle, Do Not touch the Throttle during this period. Run for 2 minutes in Drive with Air Conditioner ON. Run for 2 minutes in Drive with Air Conditioner OFF. Run for 2 Minutes in Neutral with Air Conditioning ON. Run for 2 Minutes in Neutral with Air Conditioning OFF. Then Road Test Vehicle for at least 5 minutes at Various Speeds. |

i did it took it for a mad spin got back and its still rough idle and drops out when i wack her into park any sugguestions? |

Try the above again, do it exactly as it says.

try increasing your idle speed?
maybe this problem only happened at the same time as the battery out of fluke. it could be unrelated. p.s. ive dc'd my battery MANY times and have never done the "proper way", just plug in idle for a min then drive it like you stole it. |

Possibly faulty Idle speed controller or map sensor, check both those.

i talked with the service center at ford and they want me to take it in to put it on some machine charging 110 an hour is that good or not? lol

Sounds like the ISC to me.
After checking that it is actually plugged in, disconnect it and see if it makes any difference.
