xhute0 wrote: You don't have to buy the pulleys, just the bearings. I replaced mine for the grand sum of $8 and took me about 15 minutes (including the celebratory can afterwards!) Contact CBC or a bearing supplier once you have them out, give them the number or better still nick down ther with the bearings. Piece of cake!
someone else mentioned this before on another post |

Maybe the ones in mine were already aftermarket. The bearings come out easy (using a drift and a hitting stick) New ones went in nice and tight. Didn't think to see if they were genuine or not.

put the new pulleys on, the old ones were plastic Daycos. Bottom one was totally stuffed, top on the way out. Bought Nuline steel pulleys pt no's EP010 & EP011 for $36 for both. Didnt pull out fans just removed two of the bolts on the tensioner and moved it around so I could remove the old pulleys and bolt on the new ones.
Theres no way you could change bearings with the plastic ones. |

I couldn't get to the 3rd bolt properly so just loosened it, wasnt to bad.
Runs like a dream, took it back to get it checked out after 1,000k's it had started to idle slightly rough when cold. After a quick adjustment its all good, getting around 450k's around town before puting about 60Litres in, huge savings. |

i replaced mine yesterday, out came the fans.
it makes for a real quick job. the plastic factory pulleys you can't press the bearing out. the aftermarket nuline ones you can.

Dunno if they're repco branded but that's certainly where I got my nuline top idler from. Will be replacing the bottom left one (V8) with a nuline as well.
