its pretty easy to do, you have to leave the key in the new barrel for an hour i think for the bem to learn the new key and barrel

yup.
IT'll take 30mins for EF,a nd 1 hour for EL for the BEM to learn the new barrell. Is it the starter switch part of the lock part? You can replace the lock part without having to relearn it. what symptoms are you having?

Pretty much what it does is sometimes it will start straight away, no problems, other times when i turn the key it will wait a few seconds and then crank over, or other times it wont do much at all
