haha well I have no idea, I unplugged tail lights other day to do some custom tail-lights (pics soon) on my eb. I did not muck around with wiring, just simply pulled plug out of back. After hooking them back up I went out that night, and found that I can turn key off, take key out and engine is still running, as soon as I turn head-lights off my engine turns off.. WTF? lol can any1 maybe explain how this has happen considering I have not touched any wiring.. help lol as there is obviously a cross wire somewhere and bit worried about an electrical fire.

seems very very unlikely that this is caused by something at the tail lamp end. Its more likely to be a shorted wire under the dash or something
best to get an auto elec to look at it |

Had this problem myself once, it was intermittent and after much head scratching found that the engine would stop in this situation if I took my foot off the brake, ahha you say, well the problem was a stop tail lamp, the stop and tail filament feeds had shorted in the lamp base, changed the lamp and no problem since. I did confirm the problem at the time by refitting the old lamp to be sure. It was intermittent and did not happen frequently. Any way good luck.

i was going to say it could be a stop tail lamp. its a really odd thing with early e series cars. get some new bulbs and chances are all your problems will dissapear

yep... had a blow globe.. the bit underneath had blown and was earthing and with electronic things something earthing like that can cause some strange and bad problems that can easily be fixed
