The story goes like this.
Broke the old Distributer and got the Ford Dealership to put a new one on, they told me they also reset the timing to standard. As soon as I drove out of there it felt a bit wierd, I should of gone strait back but was in a hurry. The car has no power, the more you push the acelerater down the more the engine struggles, ie it is flooding. It also back fires and burbles way too much when De-acelerating. I have heard that when a car is modified with a lumpy cam and head shaving/port and polish, that the timing should be advanced from 10 BTDC So can sombody please explain how to do this properly, ie setting computer into base mode and which way to turn the distributer. Detailed help would be apreciated, and if you live in perth, a 6 pack(beer not a car) will becoming your way Cheers |

it is a stage 3 crow cam
port and polish, but notting too major 0.040 tho shaved from head Always runs on 98 octane fuel. DO you think it will be near 10, or miles away like say 30. I will probally just advance a bit at a time and test drive it. But I am not sure how to advance it, or how to measure what it is, or even find the timimg marks! Oh and the work shop manuel was a waste of $50, that just says adjust timing to 10 BTDC, but it does not explane anything, except how to put car in base setting mode. |
