ive eaten plenty of vr's. They dont have that much stick. Though vs manuals are different stories.

Anyway like the rest said and you should be fine.

Um and by the way mine is 5 speed so that probaly makes a differance

Howabout scraping up the few measly bucks it costs to take it to legal off street drags?

Beat him, get it in writing, in front of other holden fans.... without putting your lives at risk.....

You need to keep with him in 1st, if you get to second and its even you should be doing well....

Gen3 ?! I assume you're talking about the V6 Ecotec that came out with the VS, not the 5.7l Chev V8 in the VTII onwards.
VS's aren't THAT much quicker despite the extra boost in power as they're a little heavier than the VRs. Either way, you're wasting your time with an auto :P

Blown V8 vs NA 6 - sounds like a fair fight! ...and all the more embarrasing when you don't come out that much in front :P

On that note, I'll be doing it properly and running at WSID on the 16th of Feb, stay tuned :)

People really overate commodores, unless the EF is shagged there is no way it will get beaten by a stock VR, VS or even VT. They have better gear ratios in first but no torque and a s**t second gear. Over the full quatre the ford will win.
Seeing most of you guys are from the city most of your drags would have been up to 60 or 80 where the commodore probably would be in front. Over 400m the ford will kill it.

Those V6's are very fast of the line. I know I can beat them in my EL, but i'm also a 5 speed. My work car is an EF auto wagon, and I woudl't like to race on in that, I'm sure I'd lose.

The commodores have the advantafe of better gear ratios, better diff ratios, and a VR is about 200kg lighter than an EL. (My mates VS Exec is 200kg ligher than my EL Futura)

you guys are all full of it. the vr would kick all standard ef and el's including the xr6's.
i lke ford as much as the rest of you, but if your standard then your gonna lose. the vs only had 5 kw at the flywheel more than the vr, which is like 1 maybe 2 at the rears.
thats f**k all difference.
you just gotta face up to the truth.
ive seen my mates old vr eat up tonnes of cars to many times.
we had 3 people in his on the way back from the drags and draged an el xr6. and we just nugged in front. and thats with extra weight.

Maybe all your mates cars have been rooted or they dont know how to drive. My old xr6 used to cream every V6 - Timmeh (its his car now) took it down the drags and was only just beaten by a supercharged VR. [/b]
