What are the practical benefits of Independent Rear Suspension?
Does it mean less damage when we go over speed bumps etc? Or if the car gets some air time - does it mean it receives less damage when it lands?

More control over rough surfaces and bumps. More traction on uneven surfaces. For a flat track it isn't really necessary.. Looking to the V8 supercars as a guide on what kind of suspension would be fine for the street is just stupid.
