Hey fellas, well I recently fitted BBM to my car, and it's great, but have had slight surging problem.

Well, I've run diagnostic, and come up with 111, so no probs there. I put a new OXY sensor for good measure, new fuel filter, new leads, checked timing swapped fuel pump (no difference so replaced mine with a new strainer) and has improved heaps, but still slightly noticeable.

Anybody around Melbourne area (I'm in Melton) do injector cleaning, as I have a set sitting in glovebox from the BBM, so there already out of car.

Whats a good price for injector cleaning/testing whatever.

Mark :D

hey

i got my injectors cleaned it did make the idol smoother but didnt fix my surge problem..
i changed my act (air charge temp)sensor the other day and my surge problem is almost completly gone..
although ive changed every other sensor so far but im not convinced its gone yet because after every time i change a sensor the surge goes away for a few days..
ill let ya know if it was my problem in a day or 2..

the only other thing i havnt changed so far is fuel pump..

i know its very frustrating trying to find a problem when the ecu doesnt give any bad fault codes.lol

Troyman, you're not wrong. Well, it feels heaps better, and been good for about 2 weeks now, and economy is fantastic, better than when on log manifold!! 690 kays mixed (though mostly fwy) is pretty good to me and my wallet :D :D

But yeah, the only thing left is the injectors, but I haven't tried IAC. Looks a b**ch to get too  Should I put my log manifold one on, or a new one?? How much did you pay for it?

P.S how you going with your thermo fans?

i think they are about $80 from ford but i used the one from the log manifold as the car had no probs with the sensors when the log manifold was on there..

i still havnt been able to get the fans to work so im on the hunt for another ecu to try the fans again lol

My Gregories manual gives the following values for the IAT and the ECT sensors.

10¨¬C 58.75K¥Ø
20¨¬C 37.30K¥Ø
30¨¬C 24.27K¥Ø
40¨¬C 16.15K¥Ø
60¨¬C 7.60K¥Ø
80¨¬C 3.84K¥Ø
100¨¬C 2.07K¥Ø

All you need now is to measure them to see if they are in spec. If you measure them at room temp check the thermometer and again at 100¨¬C by putting them in a pot of boiling water and the readings are ok then it is reasonably safe to assume the readings in between will be ok. But if you want it to be sure to be sure then get a thermometer in the water and check the resistances as the water cools down.

Cheers,
C
