How loud is it?

Injectors can often make a clicking sound, lounder tapping sounds are usually the lifters. Its not supposed to happen but it is very common.

In that case I would say its your lifters.

You can clean them up easy enough but it tends to be hit and miss (works well for me but others say it does nothing). Getting to them is easy enough:

1. take the rocker cover off
2. undo the 20 odd bolts that hold the rocker gear down
3. push some rags into the oil galleries and lift the rocker gear off
4. push the lifters out the end of the rocker arms
5. pull the lifters apart. there are 4 parts to them - a small plastic clip that holts them together, the top bit, the bottom bit, and a spring inside. Keep the bits to each seperate so you dont mix them up.
6. Soak/scrup each in some carby cleaner until they look like new.
7. put them back together using new clips.
8. put the lifters back in the arms, the rocker gear back on the engine, etc

should be good for a few more years at least :)

If the tick is like a solenoid switching (click click click) it's probably injectors that require servicing
If it's a clacking noise and seems to lesson somewhat up in the revs it's best to look at the cam lifters .If they need replacing they are available aftermarket.
