Guys, you all talk about setting the idle in Drive.
I have a manual. Does this have any effect on the set idle value? Also any reference to reseting ECU etc, also refers to Park/drive. Are these procedures different to Auto? I will fit a new fuel filter this weekend, check for vacuum leaks etc and reset the idle if I get confirmation of what a manual should be set at. p.s. I have not reset the idle since it was an auto as things were fine to drive. It runs roughish so I think it is a vacuum leak too. |

Just an update.
New fuel filter and still crap. MAP connected up fine, no apparent vacuum leak anywhere. As the ECU won't run the fans on high I shall have that repaired before continuing. Shall get a compression test this week too as it has a distinct miss at idle. I have not got the codes as I am waiting for the "box" froma forum member (4-6weeks). Cheers |

Set the idle while in neutral. You set it in drive for an auto as it is under load and you don't want it to stall when changing from P to D.

i idea of putting it in drive and running the AC is to simulate some load so the ecu can learn what to do when the AC gets switched on etc. if your cars a manual, you have nothing to worry about

Just thought I would mention - When you have the ISC not functioning (by means of either disconnecting or a switch in the line) error codes ARE logged with the ECU. This won't worry you at all, but it will show up if you extract the error codes from it.
