and i read this too is there ways around this apart from gettin a rpm controller?
"The EA-ED ECU is not tuned for the broadband manifold and will not be able to switch the runners at 3800rpm"

Yeah im thinkin of doin the same thing.. I heard u need an EL ECU cause its the only ECU that can controll the manifold and a mechanical dizzy..

theres heaps of threads on this do a search, either get a el ecu and re-wire (outputs for thermos too) or just buy a rpm swith from jaycar

Thanks everyone for helping. i did do a massive search last night and looked at everything to do with this conversion i think i got a good idea what to now.

just a few more question.s.
do u have to have the thermo fans for the el ecu or wont it mind,
or should i just get the thermo fans?? easy to install into a eb??

I have an EB2 with an EL engine, log manifold, EL fans and 3 belt [EB] setup with EF 110amp alternator.
You don't need the thermo fans fitted to run the EL ecu just as you don't need a serpentine belt to run an EF/EL alternator. However, as the fans are the greatest thing since sliced bread when compared to the clutch fan, you should fit them IMO. I would advise anyone to fit thermofans before fitting the BBM, the fans are definately money well spent. The 'benefits' of a BBM on an EB are doubtful IMO unless you are fitting the full serpentine belt setup off an EF/EL then you have to fit them anyway as the later water pump has no provision for a clutch fan.
Wiring them to the ECU requires fitting EL relays and more fiddling around, others like 'snap0964' know more than me on this. A Davies-Craig thermo switch and 3 relays as discussed here http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=105477 and on Bunters doco on Fordmods is a popular way around this as the temp switches are adjustable.
You must have figured out what you are going to do with re-fitting your aircon compressor to make it clear the BBM so I'll leave that alone.
Hope this is of some help,
Paul
