Ask Voxace about this. he had his whole dash apart to do the 5spd conversion.

james Yeah as far as I know your going to have to take apart the dash to some degree. The dash part isn't all that hard really, its the manouvering of the pedal box out. Oddly enough I found it easy enough to get the new one in. There are some bolts at the top of the dash that once taken out allow it to come forward enough to do all the work. Some advice, take the steering column out too. Hope that helps. Cheers. |

that thing with the clutch is a b**ch when dad still had the car i was driving it and i put the clutch in to downshift and i heard a snap and the clutch pedal was just on the floor. pretty scary stuff.
The old man just took it to some dude he knew and he welded it up and strengthened it with an extra bar or something and now its strong as. might not have to go the way of the new pedal box after all.

dude.
before u put it back in STRENGTHEN THAT PEG!!!!!!!!! ive replaced mine twice, the second time i got the busted one, rewelded and re strenghtened, and hasnt broken since!! and voxace is right on the money! dont forget the top bolts on ur dash so you can bring it forward. You dont have to take the dash out, just slide it forward. |
