hey fellas, dunno if anyone can help me out but im putting a set of crow double valve springs on my head, i spend 100 bucks on a valve spring compressof, one of the big clamp style one, and these spring are just so strong often they just bend teh part that fits over the spring retainers is starting to piss me off big time

the hand jobs are usless.

get your self a large G or F clamp and a cheap socket or bit of tube a little smaller then the valve retainer.

cut 1/3 of the of the socket/tube off so it looks like a 'C' and then weld it to the clamp.

you wind it down and use a small magnet to get the collets out.

i've done it like that for years. untill the day comes i can afford and air operated spring compressor

Ive got one of the hand opperated ones. Works a treat. However your hands WILL be sore!

yeah mine would crunch a normal spring the crow doubles once it gets to the scond spring i starts bending the end of the compressor then the the spring car flies off like a bullet
