To make big power on the dyno, you have to do everything you can to increase flow at high rpm. When that engine is at low rpm (<3000) there is no velocity in the intake so the engine is very inefficient/gutless.

In other words, a 180rwkw+ engines have very lumpy idle and not much power below 3000rpm which makes driving them unpleasant.

Because they are modding a long stroke 6 cyl engine that cant rev. Its hard to make big power numbers with 4.0L displacement when the engine wont go past 6000rpm.



it'll go past 6000rpm, you just need the right rods and pistons to keep it together


Getting it to hold together is the easy part (I have mine at 6400-6500 often enough). The geometry doesnt lend itself to producing power at these rpm.

by modding or changing the manifold should get better results?
so basicly the i6 engines are s**t to mods? (i think that they didnt have the setup of the engine right if its lumpy and didnt have power below 3000rpm. but i dont know much).

No its not s**t to mod, every engine has limits on what is practical for a street engine. If you want to go all out, look at the speedway cars that ditch EFI and pull over 200rwkw with a carby sitting on top.

thanks mate for the info. gona research more about the efi and the caby. but i thought efi is better?

EFI is better, but they are not allowed to use it in the class they run.

Also look at the changes they made in the BA's. They use the same manifold and get 180rwkw.

BA heads have 4 valves as well so they can get good flow and velocity (so they can work the engine and dont have as much problems with loss of low end power).

i know the el heads are not that good. they should of made them twin cam. only if the ba heads fitted on the e series.
