dont do them up to tight our youll snap studs be careful and just take your time and do it right.

aviation goo is best for intake manifolds rather than silastic etc.

orrighty then everyone, thanks for the help did it today. car runs like its on silk now i swear, its the smoothest its ever been idling. adsolutely brilliant.

We ended up draining the coolant out and taking out the theromstat and the bit around it right out so we could get right in under the manifold. Got to all 6 from underneath.

the last bolt on the bottom got stuck and took us a fair while of fighting to get it, but we ended up one of us under and swinging the spanner, another putting outwards pressure on it from above! lol. went back in easily enough though.

rest of it was straight forward though.

got a few photos of some stuff anyway.
Oh and walker, i got a nice pic of what went wrong with the gasket!! went in a big way. Actually found one of the peices in the inlet runner of the head!! Glad i pulled that one out!

so thanks again guys.

oh yeah, and as mentioned before the ratchet spanners were absolutely invaluble, but equally as good was an extension magnet for when we dropped s**t down the side of the motor!! :P

oh yeah and mitch, we didnt have much strife with the coil pack either, didnt get in the way. and ive got fairly fat arms!! ha ha

oh yeah, and not one scraped knuckle!! ohh yeah!

EDIT: Lol, so apparantly the world C O A R S E is a swear word. :P

EDIT2: Yes I see the swear word.
